New Globe Visibility Plans Offered

According to Globe’s website, here are four new plans being offered to consumers:

• Plan 799: 40 mobile internet hours, 2 Wi-Fi hours
• Plan 999: 60 mobile internet hours, 4 Wi-Fi hours
• Plan 1499: 100 mobile internet hours, unlimited Wi-Fi hours
• Prepaid: P5/15 minutes, preloaded with 1.5 mobile internet hours

The website says that all postpaid plans require a P1,000 installment fee and a 12-month lock-in. Save for the prepaid plan which requires P4,500 for the USB modem and USIM (ouch!). This contradicts the information we’ve seen in an ad, which declares the “installation” free but requires a 24-month lock-in.

In any case, it seems that Globe is phasing out it’s original P2,000/month Visibility plan. Maybe offering unlimited internet for a “low” price is just too much for Globe? To be honest, we’re not interested in the new plans, seeing as excess Wi-Fi usage is charged P2 a minute (Excess mobile internet hours are relatively cheap though, costing 50 cents per minute).
