Apparently to mark his “first year of public service“, Governer Ed Panlilio has put up his own blog over at amonged.org.

For those who haven’t been paying attention to Philippine politics (and we don’t blame you), Mr. Panlilio is an ordained Roman Catholic priest who was elected barely governor of the Pampanga province last May.

His election victory was widely viewed as a genuine sign of change in the Pampangan politics. It helped that Ed Panlilio—suspended from his pastoral duties when he announced his intention to run for governor—won over so-called trapos.

Despite some questions about Mr. Panlilio’s apparent refusal to resign from the priesthood, at least one columnist has praised the governor for his perceived focus on good governance.

Looks like AmongEd.Org is powered by WordPress, the same publishing platform that drives Technograph.

Our experience is that those who start blogs want to communicate to a target audience. Brian Gorrell did it to “reveal” the “dirty secrets” of Philippine high society.

In Ed Panlilio’s case, it looks like “Among Ed” wants to be more open to his constituents, which is always a good move in our book. We just wonder where Mr. Panlilio will find the time to blog in his busy schedule as governor.

Thanks to reader Maki for the tip.
