American Smut Website in Tagalog?!

Whoa, are Filipinos really into online porn or something? Reader Triple-X emailed us yesterday, asking us to visit the website pictured on the right (definitely NSFW). Turns out the porn site is available in ten languages: English, French, German, Chinese, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Japanese, and get this, Tagalog!

Yep, more widely-used languages like Spanish aren’t supported by the website in question. It apparently uses the language suitable to the location of the visitor. So if a pervert visitor uses a computer in the Philippines to visit penthouse.com, the website’s text will be in Tagalog. A series of links at the bottom of the main page allow the visitor to choose their preferred language in case the website gets the language wrong.

Since this “leading” online smut site supports Tagalog, does it know something about Filipino surfing habits that we don’t? Catering to Filipinos only makes sense if lots of them are visiting your site.

In any case, we find the choice Tagalog tidbits on the site really hilarious. Check these out: “Mga Bidyo” (Videos), “Pet ng Buwan” (Pet of the Month), and our personal favorite, “Ang mga pinaka-magandang babae sa dulo ng iyong daliri” (The most beautiful women at your fingertips).

And since when did translating “Life on Top” (the website’s tagline) into “Buhay sa itaas” make any sense? Maybe Penthouse needs to hire the people behind Google Tagalog?
