According to an online survey conducted by ZDNet Asia and activetechpros.com, IT professionals in the Philippines earn an average of P500,736 annually, “but this figure varies significantly by industry, size of employer and years of experience.”

Filipino IT professionals are still second to last in Southeast Asia when it comes to compensation:

  • Those holding IT management positions earn an average of P955,940 yearly, compared to the P299,756 for those categorized under “Communications”.
  • Across the board, contractors and inpendent consultants (P504,309) earn more than their full-time counterparts (P500,444). Only those categorized under “Support” and “Systems Development” are the exception to this trend.
  • Education, tenure, and company size count:
    • PhD holders earn an average of P1,146,428 a year, compared to the P355,073 of vocational/tech school graduates
    • IT pros with over 10 years of experience get P951,113, while those working for less than 5 years receive P313,908.
    • Small employers (1-99 personnel) pay an average of P456,183 to their employees every year, while large companies (over 1000) disburse P556,529.
  • “Legal & Finance” IT pros earn an average of P667,519, while Gov’t, Education, and Health employees get only P290,300.
