The Consumer Understands Text Scams; How Bout the Telecoms?

One of our readers has a good idea of how to stop text scams. Are you listening telcos? Continue to see what Em Sarte had to say in our article originally breaking the “Handog Pangkabuhayan” text scam. It shows just how obvious the problem of text scamming is, and how obvious possible solutions are.

These text messages being sent to innocent cellphone users who did not really join in alleged contests or electronic raffles should be addressed squarely by concerned government authorities or private telecommunications companies. Aside from the insults they pose to genuine lawyers in our country, it frustrates me to think that the networks we subscribe to do not at all devise a scheme to detect who are the foolish people behind this scam.

Again, are you listening telcos? Only you have the power to stop text scams dead in its tracks, by cutting them off from the source. How about the anti-scam scheme we proposed?
