Internet Connectivity Options in Olongapo City, Pampanga

It’s a bit coincidental that we spent our weekend over at Subic, and we encounter RT Cunningham’s Broadband and High Speed Internet Choices in Olongapo City, Philippines. If his experiences are to be believed, then it seems that going online can be a bit hard in the former US Naval Reserve.

Hotspots are surprisingly “expensive” and understandably available in certain locations (maybe more establishments need to provide free Wi-Fi?). Smart Bro is once again given the bad rap for apparently poor service, and so are Internet Cafes for their inconvenience. Globe Broadband suffers from a specific drawback (”lots of complaints”).

Mr. Cunningham at least settles on two implied recommendations. While Subic Telecommunications, a PLDT subsidiary, is the most available service, RT will be switching to Cable Internet “When it becomes available to me.” Read the whole rundown here.

Hi! It’s amazing that my article hit the 1st page on Yahoo within hours of posting. I don’t know how you came across it, but it’s only been up for about 12 and 1/2 hours.

From time to time, I’ll try to provide local Olongapo city information as I compile it. The lack of information availability here is phenomenal.

Well, articles have become more visible in less than that. Kudos for sharing the info, it’s people like you who make the lack of information less of a problem.
