Asus EeePC 900 Available in the Philippines for P33,800 (What?!)

Looks like at least one local retailer is trying to exploit anticipation for the Asus EeePC 900. PC Corner is selling the second-generation ultra-portable for at least P33,800, nearly double the current price of the original Eee PC. And that’s already for the 8GB version!
Granted, the EeePC 900 features more functional hardware (a larger screen for one) than its predecessor. But since Asus designed the Eee PC line to be very a portable and relatively affordable computing and internet platform, we have to agree with Ade when he said “I mean, a $800 EeePC totally defeats the original purpose, right?”

well, PHP 22,300 is really much much affordable compared to the previous 33k, But i hope it would eventually go down to less than 20k ( coz that’s the main idea why the first eee pc was made…ayt!? …cheaper, user-friendly, more convenient, less hassle…)

Exactly. If you’re a bit patient though, you can wait for the price to go down in the next few months, especially if Asus releases a new version to complete with the HP 2133.
