Advisory: Metrobank Still Experiencing System-Wide Downtime
By Rico, 1:01 pm Fri Mar 14 2008 - News - 6 Opinions
Watch out Metrobank! Complaints about your system-wide failure (which started yesterday) are beginning to spread on the Internet, threatening to damage your reputation.
You’ve got passionate people microblogging their frustration creatively, and bloggers eliciting active conversations from disgruntled Metrobank customers. Many of the complaints wonder why the money isn’t available when it’s badly needed.
At the same time however, this downtime proves one thing: when we depend on something technological, there should be backup plans and fail-safes in place. Murphy’s Law and technology are best friends.

this is really such a bummer! i have an out of town trip tmrw, in a god forsaken place where atms are not even heard of. i need to get some money and i had to fall in line for about an hour to withdraw some cash in their atm. just when its my turn, the atm woulnd’t dispense money. try again after 3 minutes, i was told by the guard. no chance to get money via over-the-counter transactions either…
bummer!!! to think its payday and holy week is just a few days away…
maagang penitensya! hmp!!!

Hi Rico,
According to my husband, who was informed yesterday by their company about the downtime of Metrobank, this will only last until today (and hopefully Metrobank was really able to solve whatever there problem is). By tomorrow everything will be back to normal and if it’s true, hopefully their ATMs are loaded with cash.
No, my husband doesn’t work for Metro, their salary is with Metro

Hay naku, I had to go to different ATMs around the metro last night, and lahat offline. I was soooooooooooo mad, kasi that’s the time I badly needed money and dun pa unavailable. stupid metrobank, people should be wary of banks na walang alternative plans for system downtimes. scary, just thinking about it. and then just this morning, when everything is supposed to be OK, imagine my disgust when the queue to all booths is mile-long. sobrang arrrrrggh!!! stupid, stupid metrobank. people should steer clear from this bank.

Ok naman, I withdrew morning of Saturday at their own ATM and I got my money.. seems naayos naman nila agad ang problem. May press release naman daw that it was a routine system maintenance that had a problem, nobody’s fault. Ako positive thinker naman.. I’m sure being the top bank in the country, they have measures to take care of system problems.. Malas lang yung mga natamaan. Pero at least wala namang nawalan ng pera, good thing pa, hindi ako nagkagastos Friday night, he he

Dear readers< I knew of someone who has complaints in metro bank, the person who has 10 million loan died because of stress because she expects that she already paid that said amount in the said bank knowing that they are claiming that she didn’t. The family negotiate this to Makati together with xerox copies of the receipts testifying that she pay.but there were no actions coming from them. Another is they did not report the safety deposit ox plus the policy coming fom her insurance. May habol po ba ang family? nakkaawa naman po cla, until now they are paying an interest loan.
