Help Us Spread the Word About Text Scammers!

There’s been some response to our post on the Handog Pangkabuhayan text scam. Thanks goes out to all the readers who’ve shared more information, including the numbers where the unsolicited SMS is coming from.
But fighting text scams is a never-ending battle. As an online publication, Technograph can spread the word quickly (just like what’s happening with the DJ Montano blog). If you’ve recently received a scam text message, please let us know right away. We’ll make sure that everyone who visits this site will know about it.
With your help, we can lessen the number of victims who fall for this technological trap.

I sent you some SMS Spam I received, and I also posted something about this a long time ago on my old blog.
Just a few numbers I’d like to share though – some scams, all definitely spam:
+639176025818: P650k winnings from PGMA charity foundation w/ BSP “Handog pangkabuhayan”
+639267325861: EXCLUSIVE REWARDS and PRIVILEGES from Prudential Group
+639165804277: CASHLOAN for as low as 1.39% per month
+639277911730: Christian Chua of QMS MKTG offering pre-qualified credit cards from several banks
+639275674980: PERSONAL CASHLOAN similar to one above
+639277374498: STANDARD CHARTERED BANK pers0nal loan up t0 2M

I have received also an mms msg just now (5/28/2008) and I know its a scam because I dont have any transactions with Prudential.

This is very important and urgent. For more details and for ur CLAIMING POLICY CODE w/c u wil nid upon claiming of ur reward please call upon receipt of this message at 8120155/8925371 and look for Ms. Mitch Tablante, releasing Manager. Thank You and congratulations. Godbless! ”
Dinamay pa ang diyos sa panloloko. Sana we could ask hepl from authorities to trace this numbers para mapakulong tong mga salarin.

We received typical txt messages from tel. nos. +639095224303/+639095664452July- August 2008 saying “COngrats! ur cell # had wOn wOrth(P800,000.00+ N70 CELLPHONE)thru electronic raffle’ draw frm PHIL. CHARITY FOUNDATION during our 50th annvrsry/3rd prize winner , draw last07/16/08/Send ur complete NAME,AGE&ADD’s DTI-NCR#(4870). Sec.Reg.#A-1970101568. Promo ends July 19/08/4mre info’s how to claim! Pls call ds#!Atty. Enrico C. Lopez.
These two (2) numbers mentioned above must be blocked, they’ve cheated many of our kababayans here in Riyadh already, pls stop these TWATs.:(

i’ve receive a text messages saying i’ve won 2 mil (Php) 2nd prize winner sponsored by phil charity sweepstakes 41 anniv. and to contact atty. amado umali,spoken to him and instructed to ask micchael carpio decena of finance dept. in malacanang is this fake or real

I hate scammers!!!!!! Im in thailand tapos may nag text sa akin na nanalo daw ako..d ako naniwala kasi sa mga ganayang message i delete ko kaagad ngayon lang na parang my doubts … ang pnaglan nya daw ai c raffael Chavez.. #639078052802..naibigay ko pa ang name ko im scared baka gamitin nya pangalan ko..ano ba to….at pagkatapos kung nabigay ang name ko magsend daw muna ako ng pera sa repreentative at hiningi ko nag text sya sa internationationla no.ko ang rep.name is Frisca Amanduron Goc-Ong in my thnking i think this name can be trace Pasay city ang address na binigay sa akin ng scammer lalaki ang kausap ko. Sana mahuli ang mga taong ito.

i had also recieved a scam text like this..this is not my first..here is the exact details:

“NOTICE FROM BSP PHIL. CHARITY FOUNDATION” CONGARATS UR CEL# HAD WON 23RD RAFFLE DRAW LAST 07/20/09 9:00AM WORTH OF 2ND PRIZE WINNER. DTI-NCE PERMIT#0198 SERIES OF 09? INFO. SEND UR NAME/AGE/ADDRESS/WORK/ PLS CALL DIS # ATTY. ANTONIO Z. MADRIGAL, THANKS……
upon reading, i had no doubt that this is one of those text scams spreading around..i am posting this to leave the reading public their judgement..
i just wanted to know if there is a possible solution for this..or maybe the least is for their names and contact # be confirmed..what do you think the authority would say to this? do you think they have appropriate actions to all these scams? this must be stopped! sa hirap ng buhay, there would be a great chance that some people would buy scam like this,right?

I have received all messages at a different years/months. The latest is from Prudential Group of Companies telling me i have won 3 Exclusive Rewards from them. Reading this website only confirm my suspicion that it is another scam. Hope somebody from our government do something to stop this kind of scams that prey upon unsuspecting and trusting people.

Guys, the best way to fight them is to report their number and test message to ospac@ntc.gov.ph. You have to give your name, mobile number and address for them to verify your authenticity but they act very fast. I reported a number yesterday and today it is already blocked. I tried calling the number but it is dead.
