Des Mendoza’s Stylish Laptop Bags
By Rico, 4:04 pm Tue Feb 26 2008 - Rundowns - 11 Opinions
Des Mendoza, a local who has “been working as graphic/web designer for eight years” here in the Philippines, is about to go full blast with a line of leather laptop bags bearing her name. The two models currently available are a bit pricey (Php 5,000 and 5,500 respectively) but the bags are snazzy enough for the feminine corporate warrior. As guys, we’re staying away from these things, because we will surely cry once we accidentally scuff the genuine crocodile or ostrich leather. Not to mention it would give our drinking mates the wrong idea.

In any case, you can answer the website survey to get a chance to win a free bag. And if fate doesn’t favor you, orders are facilitated either through BPI deposits or PayPal. We do hope a full review will follow, but it will require an actual bag and a womanly reviewer. We’re working on both right now.

Cool bags! Can’t wait for the “masculine” versions to be available. They look quite heavy though.

That’s why we want a sample to review! We’re pretty sure the leather will also prove a problem for us less-than-careful guys.

it’s cool but i think it’s a bit too pricey for a laptop bag. what about those who want something functional and stylish/fashionable but less expensive?

As far as we know, Samsonite makes pretty functional and relatively affordable laptop bags. But, they look pretty boring. We’ve also seen more “feminine”-looking bags in Power Books, but they’re only for the MacBook.

[...] Unfortunately, since buyers have to wait for an email confirming the availability of their ordered products before they can close the deal, making shopping at Kikay Exchange longer than necessary. The listed prices are also exclusive of any shipping charges. In any case, Kikay Exchange’s laptop catalogs are still appealing than pricier alternatives, such as Des Mendoza’s collection. [...]

There are trendy yet more affordable laptop bags available – check out brattybonita22.multiply.com for women’s line and toughbratbags.multiply.com for men’s line. Power Mac also sells these bags.

These ARE a bit pricey. I bought mine from a Multiply store for less than half the price and I’m super happy w/ it. I bought mine at http://www.technochicbiz.multiply.com
