IMAX to Expand Operations in the Philippines in 2009

When SM Mall of Asia first opened, it featured the first IMAX theater in the Philippines. Apparently, the establishment was a huge success, as the IMAX Corporation and SM Prime Holdings have entered into an agreement “to install two IMAX digital projection systems at shopping malls in the cities of Manila and Cebu.”

Given the parties of the agreement, it’s probably that the two malls in question will be owned by SM. SM Prime Holdings is the largest mall operator in the country, with over 30 malls in the Philippines to date.
