Mozilla Firefox 3 Beta 2 Now Out

Installing the second beta of Firefox 3 was an automatic process for us here at Technograph, as it was an update applied to our copy of Firefox 3 Beta 1. Minor improvements all over the board, as advertised by Mozilla, and the browser does feel faster. The reliability of the first beta was superb, with the application never crashing during our month of usage, and we hope that this continues on Beta 2.
Perhaps the most noticeable change is the new, more detailed address bar. Like in the previous version, Firefox 3 Beta 2 does a better job of listing visited websites to match what you type in the address bar. Typing in “ogle” will match “google.com” and “ogle.com”, instead of just “ogle.com” as the previous, exacting setup went. Beta 2 adds another dimension by listing the URLs and website titles that match what you’re typing in. So “ogle” now matches “google.com”,” ogle.com”, and any other website you’ve visited containing “ogle” in its title or address.
Unfortunately, add-ons still don’t work, given that Firefox 3 is still a beta. It looks like must-have utilities such as Google Browser Sync will only become usable if and when Mozilla decides to release a final version.
