Philippine Web Awards Organizers Declare Publication of Judges’ Scores “Unauthorized”

pwa-judges-scores.gifLast Tuesday, the Philippine Web Awards website announced “that the Finals Judges scores posted [here] did not come from the Punongbayan & Araullo group of auditors, PWA organizers, or the officers and employees of Media G8way Corp.”

Our original article breaking the story (Is a Winner of The 10th Philippine Web Awards Guilty of Plagiarism?) was also mentioned, as part of a denial that any party officially involved with the PWAs left comments under the name “Punongbayan & Araullo.” The commenter in question has been quick to criticize those defending the PWAs—and shares the same IP address with other commenters of different names.

The willingness of the organizers to publicize opinions critical of the awards may surprise some, especially those who perceive the award-giving body as unresponsive to the numerous complaints voiced during the judging process.

If they just posted the official scores in the first place then they wouldn’t have this problem.

    Transparency, transparency, transparency.
