Asus Eee PC Spotted in the Philippines

Last night we got a change to try out the Asus Eee PC. Our half-hour encounter with the ultra-portable laptop proved pleasant. The owner of the test unit bought it yesterday at Greenhills, paying Php 19,000.

From the get go, the Eee PC proved to be a responsive gadget. It boots up in mere seconds, and presents the user with a multi-tabbed interface. The unit categorizes the pre-installed (like Firefox and OpenOffice.Org) applications under Internet, Work, Learn, and Play, and features prominent links to popular websites like Wikipedia and Google Office Docs.

We liked the bright 7″ color display, the compact and light profile, and the usable keyboard. Unfortunately, using the track pad was a little difficult, since it needed some hard pressure to move the mouse pointer around. Pics and a full review to follow ASAP.
